Boys Capture Central Division
The boys team completed the 2009 Outdoor Track and Field dual meet season as the FCIAC Central Division Champions with a 16-1 record.

Results
The weather conditions varied from rain to sun to overcast and back again. There were PRs in field and on the track. Top performances were turned in by the Paul Chandler(2nd PV on jumps), Pip Turegano(3rd 400HH), Matt Marriott(3rd 800M) and Boys 4x400 (5th).

Top performances for Day 2: Chandler won the PV(14' 0.0"), Turegano captured 5th the 400IH(58.69), Marriott ran 1:59.61 in the 800, boys varsity 4x400 placed 3rd with a time of 3:28.87.
Top performances for Day 1: the boys varsity 4x800 (Roche, Zorfas, McCambley, Marriott)placed second, the girls JV 4x800 (Smith, Hanrahan, Harris, Myers)placed second and Joselyn Henry placed third in the long jump with a mark of 16' 3" and sixth in the shot put(33' 1").

CIAC Scholar Athlete

The CIAC Scholar-Athlete Program annually recognizes two high school seniors - one boy and one girl - from each member high school whose academic and athletic careers have been exemplary, whose personal standards and achievements are a model to others, and who possess high levels of integrity, self-discipline and courage. We are happy to say that team member, Dan Fishman, will be representing Staples this year.
